TRANSIENCEA Musical World of Works for Soprano, Clarinet, and Piano Soprano Julia Broxholm is known for her performances of vocal literature by American composers of the 20th and 21st centuries. Ms. Broxholm is a founding member of SATB, a vocal quartet specializing in vocal chamber music of the 19th and 20th centuries. Clarinetist Fred Ormand, an acclaimed performer and pedagogue, draws on his performance experience with the Chicago, Cleveland and Detroit Symphony Orchestras as well as his chamber music experience with the Interlochen Arts Quintet, the Dusha Quartet, Chamber Music Northwest Festival and The Music Academy of the West to meld exquisitely with "the dean of collaborative pianists" (Los Angles Times), Martin Katz, in this highly engaging trio recording of works by American composers with Ms. Broxholm. Musical America magazine created the Accompanist of the Year award to bestow upon Mr. Katz. While listening to this music one becomes aware of the special supportive friendship that these artists have for one another and for the works they are performing.
